4 Months

Last Wednesday Carolina turned 4 months. On Thursday I was laying in bed with her and all of a sudden I see Carolina laying on her tummy lifting her head up. I was in shock since I had never seen her do that. As you know she has been in daycare for 4 weeks and refused to take a bottle. At most she would take was 1.5 oz. of milk. The Dr. told us that we could start feeding Carolina cereal and veggies since she wasn't eating during the day. So during the weekend I started her on peas. I went compeltely granola head and bought her organic peas, steamed them, and put them in the food processor. Not to sound like I'm bragging but they came out pretty good. The first time that I feed her peas she looked like the Incredible Hulk. She had peas on her eyebrows, nose, and some of it actually landed in her mouth. Unfortunatelly with the introduction of food comes the end of good smelling poop. I never thought I would call poop good smelling but her poop was she was only on milk did not smell bad at all. Now that she eats veggies her poop is starting to smell like grown-up poop and today I had to change her first grow-up poop diaper YUCK!.



This morning Paul dressed her in the 1st outfit that Paul and I bought her. I think we spent $6 on it but we knew that one day she would wear it and look precious. When I saw her I knew it would be a special day.


When we got home Carolina was real hungry so I went through my routine of fixing her cereal and a bottle. To my surprise she finished her creal in less than five minutes. Usually she eats 2 bites and spills 2 cups but not today. She still looked hungry so I decided to give her a bottle. Only 1 oz. so she wouldn't waste it. In less than a minute the milk was gone. I couldn't believe it! So decided to try 2 more oz. Once again she finished it in less than a minute. I called Paul and told him the exciting news. At that point I decided to go for broke and give her another 2 oz. and to my amazement she took it. All together she drank 5 oz. Finally, she's taking a bottle. Carolina is no longet a titty baby. Now she's a big girl :)

In a couple of days reality will probably hit that my baby is growing up but for now I cheer for the bechmark my baby has met.

Firsts-Month 3

The past two months have been a time of firsts.

As soon as she turned 2 months Carolina got her ears pierced. I think she mostly cried because Paul was holding her head. 30 minutes after she got her earring we bought her a hat and went x-mas shopping. This was the first time she went shopping in South Lake. She is such a brave little girl!

Carolina turned 3 months old and is growing out of all of her clothes.

We went to El Paso for Thanksgiving and Carolina got to experience her first long car ride. What usually takes us 8 hours this time it took us ten hours. Overall it was a great ride home with excellent weather. The weather was so good that we stopped for a picnic in Pecos.

In El Paso we got to celebrate Thanksgiving twice. Once at Gilbert's house and the other at Paul's parents house. At the end of the night Ella stated it best "I'm stuffed". Carolina really enjoyed meeting all of her cousins for the first time and spending her first Thanksgiving with them.

Once we got back home Carolina and I went to have lunch with Paul. I was so excited because She was going to have lunch with her daddy for the first time but she decided to take a nap the whole time. I guess in a way it was good since Paul and I got to enjoy a nice lunch. Once we finished with lunch we took Paul back to work. This was the first time she went to Paul's work. Unfortunately it was too windy so the hangers' doors were closed and Carolina didn't get to see the planes. :(

She also got to go to her first graduation where she got to see Ana get her Masters. Carolina also got to go shopping in Grapevine for the first time.

Before we knew it it was time to go back to El Paso to celebrate Christmas. Carolina got to celebrate Christmas 4 times. Once with the Delgado family, once with the Solis family, once with the Trejo family and once just with us. She got a lot of good stuff like clothes, a pony, and a wagon. During this trip she got to do a lot of things for the first time like going to the grocery store, meeting my Abue & Julian, and most importantly going to church.

Now I sit here stressing because tomorrow will be a very important first. Tomorrow will be the first day I go back to work. Tomorrow will be the first day that Carolina goes to day care. Tomorrow will be the longest we have been away from each other since the day she was born. I feel like I can't breath, I feel like I'm making her grow-up too soon. I feel concern because I don't think that I have prepared her enough for this day. She's still not taking a bottle and that's my biggest concern. I'm afraid she's going to cry the whole day. I'm afraid she might no longer be the happy baby she is. I have all these fears but I know that she's strong and will be ok.

Month 2

The second month has just flown by. Carolina's tummy is much better :) But due to me hugging her all the time whe her tummy hurt now all she wants is to be in somebody's arms. Oh well, I figure i better enjoy it because one of these days she's not going to want me to hold her.

During this month Carolina got to experience her first thunderstorm. Fortunatelly it did not scare her. She's used to listening to storms thanks to Scout, a little plush dog that makes nature sounds.

Carolina got to celebrate her first Halloween. The weater was nice so we went to our neighbors Ray & Judy and Joe Allen's. Everybody that walked by said she was a cute baby but by 8:00pm she was done.

We officially kicked off the holiday season by helping Elvia make Tamales. Carolina loves watching Elvia cook. I think she loves her because Elvia talks to her all the time.

Letter to Santa

Dear Santa,
It is going to be my 1st Christmas and I would really like a red wagon. It will be the best gift since I will be able to ride in it and when I grow up I can help my dad by pulling the garden tools in it. I promise to be a good girl.
